THE CHARACTER: I am not Cassandra Clare. I did not create Julian Blackthorn, or the Shadow World. I am merely a writer who loves a character. I do play Julian as very canon divergent, seeing as TDA is not finished. This blog will be filled with headcanons and drabbles. I take credit for my writing and my headcanons.
THE ICONS: I make my own icons from screencaps, crop them, and edit them to my liking, and I would appreciate it if they were not saved and re-edited or re-used. For this blog, I’m saving all my base icons, and will be uploading them to my rph, so I’ll link them here later if anyone wants them.
portrayal.
MY PORTRAYAL: Much of what Cassandra Clare wrote was great, but I do tend to get pretty canon divergent. Even though I love Julian, I have a lot of headcanons, and with the series not being finished yet, this blog will probably be canon divergent.
interacting.
MUTUALS: Because this blog is private & selective, I will only interact with mutals. That doesn’t mean that I have anything against people that I don’t follow back, or who don’t follow me back, it simply means that I will only roleplay with people who are in a mutual following with me ( and who I’ve probably plotted with ) IT’S NOTHING PERSONAL.
formatting.
OPPOSITES ATTRACT: I have a certain way that I format, and you probably do, too. I don’t mind, if you don’t mind, please say you do not mind ( if you know these song lyrics, i’ll love you forever ). I usually use the bare minimum when it comes to formatting, and I use icons. That’s about it. You can go all out if you’d like, or don’t. It doesn’t matter to me. Do what makes you comfy!
shipping.
LET ME LOVE YOU: The biggest ship I have for Julian is chemistry. The characters I play tend to be either bisexual or pansexual. If you want to plot out a ship with Julian, I’m probably down. My wishlist is on my navigation, or feel free to link me to yours and we can talk.
tagging.
STAY SAFE: Do you have something you want me to tag? Let me know! I’ll tag it for you in a heartbeat. I’ll be tagging the obvious, but if there are things that I don’t automatically think of, please just stop by and ask me to tag it, and it’ll be added to my list. Roleplaying is meant to be fun, I’ll try to make this blog as much a safe space as possible.
about.
CUTE LIL MUN: Hi, there! My name is Haley and I’m 21! I share a birthday with Lily James, Zak Bagans, Hayley Atwell, Mary Costa, Bette Davis, and Jesse McCartney’s single She’s No You. Chloe Rose is the love of my life. You can probably also tell that I’m bad at talking about myself, so if you want to know more, feel free to ask! My IMs are always open!
This blog is free of out of character hate.

Before the Dark War, before the Cold Peace, before the Shadow World was what it is now, it was just Julian and Emma. Even before they were parabatai, they were just two best friends training to fight side by side. Julian had always loved Emma Carstairs. Before he knew what love was, he knew that he loved her. Even when he didn’t love himself - when all he knew was love for his younger siblings, he knew that he would always hold her dear. She soared above the ground, and he kept her tethered to the earth. Without him she would be lost among the clouds.
Julian Blackthorn hadn’t expected to be a parental figure at twelve years old, but when he killed his Endarkened father, he assumed the role of Dad to four children. He never thought that he would need them more than they may need him, or that his heart could love so unconditionally, or that he would want to protect so fiercely as when he looked at those kids. So, he tended to the institute, and he tended to his Uncle, and he was every bit the Head of the Institute that Arthur was not. There was nobody on Earth, in Heaven above, or Hell below, that would take his children from him.
A piece of his heart grew with his siblings, and he knew that he would have to one day give them up. Whether it be if anyone ever found out that it was he running the Institute, or when they were grown and moved freely in the world of their own accord. He knew the day was coming. For Livvy and Ty, those days were coming sooner, rather than later, but he still wanted to hold on. They were skilled in battle, he couldn’t hold them back from growing up, despite how much he wanted to.
